Milica Gerhardt is a Senior Researcher in the Media Distribution and Security Research Group at Fraunhofer IDMT, where she is also pursuing her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.  Her dissertation focuses on Audio Provenance Analysis in Heterogeneous Media Sets, with an emphasis on detecting reuse and transformations of audio content. Her work focuses on the development of tools for media content verification and disinformation detection. She has contributed to several national and European research projects, including Digger, AudioTrust+, AI4Media, and SpeechTrust+, all centered around trustworthy media technologies. Currently, she is a contributor to the vera.ai project, which investigates AI-based detection of synthetic speech, and participates in the News-Polygraph project, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), focusing on forensic AI methods to counter disinformation.
