Synthetic Data in Healthcare – Latest Successes, Challenges and Insights

This workshop brings together healthcare providers, AI developers, researchers, and BDVA Task Forces to explore the state of synthetic data in clinical and research workflows. It will begin with a brief recap of the BDVA Health TF Synthetic Data in Healthcare Whitepaper, followed by interactive discussions on the progress made over the past year regarding its identified challenges and recommended steps. Two focused topics will guide the dialogue: (i) the clinical validity of synthetic data and (ii) hospital workflow optimization, enabled by synthetic data. Short expert inputs and participant engagement will help surface gaps, opportunities, and cross‑sector needs. The session will conclude with a synthesis of key insights that will directly feed into BDVA Health TF’s 2026 strategic work on synthetic data, including the next update of the whitepaper.
