Manufacturing-X and B2B Data Spaces enabling Circular Economy and Digital Product Passports: opportunities and challenges
The session aims to reinforce the convergence and harmonization between B2B Manufacturing Data Spaces (Manufacturing-X inspired) and Circular Economy socio-business ecosystems, with a special focus on Digital Product Passports (DPPs).
The first theme for discussion is related to how to transform and evolve existing Manufacturing B2B Data Spaces (mostly hierarchical and governed by a Large Manufacturer) towards Circular Economy and the involvement of EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) organizations (SMEs and non-profit organisations). This also involves the adoption of new TR3 (TRaceability TRansparency TRust) technologies in the Manufacturing data space as well as service-oriented business models for products End of Life management.
A second theme under discussion is concerned with the progressive introduction of DPP regulations and how it is going to affect manufacturing value networks and Data Spaces. Also in this case, new stakeholders need to be integrated as well as governmental agencies and citizens, new technologies developed (DPP Data and DPP System technologies) and new business models developed for DPP-regulated and non-regulated sectors.
