Beyond the Pitch: How EU-funded Data Projects Create Real Impact
This session proposes an evolved pitching format by introducing a stronger focus on impact, ecosystem contribution, and community engagement.
The session brings together a curated set of EU-funded data projects to present not only what they are building, but why it matters and how the wider community can engage. Each project will deliver a short, highly focused pitch structured around four guiding questions:
– What challenge is being addressed and how it relates to Europe’s data and AI priorities
– What concrete impact the project aims to generate (technical, industrial, societal)
– What the project offers to the ecosystem (technologies, datasets, pilots, standards contributions, open calls, collaboration opportunities)
– How stakeholders can practically engage, reuse results, or contribute.
Following the pitching segment, the session will transition into a moderated fireside chat with projects representatives. This conversational format will explore cross-cutting topics such as adoption barriers, sustainability beyond project lifetime, alignment with European Data Spaces, and lessons learned.
The idea is to combine concise pitches with an open, dialogue-oriented fireside chat, in order to avoid slide-heavy presentations and instead foster shared understanding, peer learning, and actionable insights.
