The ‘data product’ paradigm is widely recognised as a cornerstone of value creation when sharing data across organisations. A data product not only contains the datasets being exchanged but also encapsulates the necessary components to make these datasets easily tradable, consumable, and usable.
Today, AI has become the primary application for, including model development and training. In this session, we will revisit the concept of the ‘data product’ with a focus on adapting it to meet the unique demands of AI-driven applications. Key topics of exploration will include:
- Defining the AI-Ready Data Product: identifying the additional elements required to make data products fully supportive of AI workflows
- AI-Specific requirements: examining essential features of data products, such as data provenance, metadata, quality standards, and lineage, that are crucial for AI readiness.
- AI-driven business models: discussing how data products can empower AI-based business models and strategies.
- Compliance in AI contexts: considering the implications of regulations like the AI Act and their impact on data product design.
The goal of this session is to collaboratively draft a tailored version of the data product framework optimised specifically for AI applications
